Project Statement

Rather than propose a single (therefore true or false) way of viewing and containing art, this pavilion proposes a "Point of View Mesh" (POV.MESH). The POV.MESH emerges out of a confluence of interactions that could occur on the PEEPSHOW site in both formal and informal ways. As a container for art in an urban setting it catalyses and is catalysed by the deliberate and incidental flows of people around it. Among the interactions that its tessellated surfaces sponsor are a pedestrian view from the sidewalk, "peep"-views for vehicles parking in stalls, and an opening for those entering through the lot.
